Welcome to Hacienda La Esperanza. This unique bed and breakfast is a one of a kind resort located in the heart of the famous ruins of Copan. Now you might want to ask what makes us so different. Well the answer is simple. We are the only B&B in all of Honduras (perhaps in the world) who's sole purpose for doing business is to support the indigenous Mayan Indians of the copan Valley here in Honduras Central America. As you enter the premises you will notice the Clinica La Esperanza. This small clinic gets it support directly from your tourist dollars. One hundred percent (100%) of the profits we gain from this resort go to support the programs for the poor through Paramedics for Children. The resort is run by Rodger Harrison, President of Paramedics For Children . After normal operating expeneses the remainder of the funds go to Paramedics For Children to support their many programs as well as their clinic and school supply programs. Rodger not only runs the B&B with his associate Silvana Ayuso he is also the president of Paramedics For Children. Presently the Clinic La Esperanza is treating up to 600 patients per month through a subsidy program started by Paramedics For Children 3 years ago. The program works giving local doctors access to the clinic for free, and them paying an hourly subsidy for each hour that they are open. The clinic is open seven days per week and the fee for a consultation and medicine is very low due in large part to the income we derive from your tourist dollars, and regular donations from the USA and Canada. Presently the consultation fee is only 50 lempiras ($2.64) which often includes medicine for free. This rate is about 20% of what the normal consultation fees run in the town. As B&Bs go we are pretty small. We offer four luxury rooms with all the amenities like hot water, Internet, US Cable TV, comfortable beds, incredible atmosphere, lovely settings, relaxation and laid back fun. When you are here you are not just a guest, you are one of the family. On top of this your hosts Silvana and Rodger will entertain you with many stories about Copan and the people who live here. Although we are not in the tour business we can arrange just about anything you need. Copan is full of fun, and we really want to see you get the most out of it.
